Phil Ivey has been branded as the best poker contender on the planet by many of the top-ranked pros. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning one. His papa taught Phil penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wanted to pickup everything he possibly could about the game. He routinely told his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from others annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker competitors in the world.
Phil started playing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The beginning number of years for Phil were a learning opportunity and coming away with a win wasn’t a regular outcome at the time. Phil became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made two final tables and came away with his first WSOP bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he defeated quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Sin City. He continues to participate in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to discipline and a continuing passion for poker. He states that he is learning every single day and is incredibly abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always strives to improve.
Despite the fact that Phil has won some big tournaments, he favors winning money games on a regular basis.
