Poker has become globally acclaimed lately, with televised tournaments and celebrity poker game shows. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV scores. Over the years several variations on the original poker game have been developed, including some games that are not in reality poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is one of these games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with vingt-et-un than old guard poker, in that the gamblers wager against the dealer rather than the other players. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little concealment or other kinds of boondoggle. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the dealer announcing "No more wagers." At that instance, both you and the casino and of course all of the other gamblers attain five cards. Once you have seen your hand and the bank’s 1st card, you need to in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call bet’s value is on same level to your beginning bet, which means that the stakes will have increased two fold. Giving Up means that your ante goes immediately to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the dealer does not have ace/king or better, your bet is returned, plus a sum in accordance with the original bet. If the house has a hand with ace/king or better, you win if your hand is greater than the dealer’s hand. The house pays money even with your wager and controlled odds on your call wager. These odds are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • one hundred to one for a royal flush
