Phil Ivey has been labeled as the number one poker player on the globe by quite a few of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to New Jersey before reaching turning 1. His grandpa taught Phil one cent-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, Phil was addicted to poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about the game. Phil routinely would tell his grandparents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the negative feedback from others destroy his goal of becoming one of the best poker competitors on the planet.
He began playing seriously after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his techniques at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching opportunity and winning was not a regular thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP when he made 2 final tables and came away with his first World Series of Poker bracelet, in a two dollar, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha match. At the closing table he defeated quite a few of the well known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.
He decided to take his skills to the successive level and headed out west to Sin City. He continues to play in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the greatest players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an undying love for the game of poker. Phil states that he’s picking up skills every day and is incredibly humble about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes every single session of poker and always aspires to get better.
Although Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a normal basis.
