High Risk Poker on the Net Just Before you Tilt
Mar 172016

Gus Hansen enjoyed a marvelous year on the WPT where he was the only participant to achieve closing poker table in three of the competitions. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You might remember one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history up against Daniel Negreanu. Gus won a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Negreanu’s full house. Gus has made many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest gamblers in the world. While participating in web poker, another side of Hansen has been seen. Gus often participates in the 200/400 NL maximum buy in of Forty Thousand dollars. Gus frequently buys-in for the minimum of Sixteen Thousand dollars and gambles very poorly. He sits there waiting for a decent hand and then goes all in. I accept that Hansen is a great poker player but certainly not even close to the familiar players at 200/400no limit. Unless he is bankrupt, he has no reason to play at the table with the min buy-in.

Playing for the min takes almost all of the skill out of big stack poker. Hansen is supposed to be 1 of the best players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy-in for the total amount. I think tv can alter our perception of the real world at times. The greatest players anywhere in the world might be guys you have never heard of. Gus can be seen playing net poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in big stakes omaha hold’em and texas holdem. Gus Hansen has shown himself as a competition player. Can he use his skills in cash rounds?
