Omaha Hi-Lo (also known as Omaha/8 or better) is commonly seen as one of the most complicated but favored poker games. It is a variation that, even more than normal Omaha poker, invites action from all levels of players. This is the chief reason why a once invisible variation, has expanded in acceptance so amazingly.
Omaha hi low begins just like a normal game of Omaha. 4 cards are given out to each player. A round of betting follows in which gamblers can wager, check, or drop out. 3 cards are handed out, this is referred to as the flop. One more round of betting ensues. Once all the gamblers have in turn called or dropped out, another card is flipped on the turn. a further round of betting follows and then the river card is revealed. The gamblers will need to make the best high and low 5 card hands using the board and hole cards.
This is the point where many entrants get baffled. Contrasted to Texas Hold ‘Em, in which the board can make up every player’s hand, in Omaha hi low the player must use exactly 3 cards on the board, and precisely 2 hole cards. No more, not a single card less. Contrary to regular Omaha, there are 2 ways a pot could be won: the "high hand" or the "lower hand."

When deciding on a low hand, straights and flushes don’t count. the lowest hand is the weakest hand that could be put together, with the lowest value being made up of A-2-3-4-5. Considering that straights and flushes don’t count, A-2-3-4-5 is the lowest possible hand. The lower hand is any five card hand (unpaired) with an eight and below. The low hand takes half of the pot, as just like the high hand. When there’s no low hand presented, the higher hand wins the complete pot.
While it seems complicated initially, following a couple of hands you will be agile enough to get the base subtleties of play easily enough.
