Annie Duke might not have won her 1st WSOP Bracelet until two thousand and four but she is still one of the most feared poker players around the live action matches at The Bellagio in vegas. Annie’s longawaited WSOP bracelet came with success at the "forgotten game" of Omaha high-low.

While competitors from the "younger crowd" of poker go wild following a big win at the tournament, Annie heads home and becomes "mom" to her four children. She was born in New Hampshire into a family of card players. If you don’t believe that, watch her brother, Howard Lederer, in action who taught her how to play the game.

However, Annie Duke is no small fry kind of girl and has captured her share of hard tables, which includes knocking out Howard along the way on a couple of occasions. They’re both competitors that have the capability to win the large money and do so with a grin.

Annie is a strong player at any table considering that she is a genuine poker player, but it is a little more than just being great at the game. Mrs. Duke is extremely smart and graduated from Columbia University where she double majored in English and Psychology.

When you sit across from her at the poker table you know Annie is there to compete in the game and she starts "sizing" you up from the time you approach the poker table. If you cannot compete like a winner, then don’t bother.

Winning over $3 million in tournament competitions, Annie became a consultant to both UltimateBet.com and actor Ben Affleck, who wanted to hone his techniques and become a power at the tables.

You might just catch a glimpse of her at the Bellagio, you’ll see her on TV and you might even compete against her in a cyber poker match, but do not expect an easy win. Unless you’re a champion-in-the-making, you’ll not defeat her. However, it’d be exciting to say you played at the same table as "The Duke".
